As a very versatile player David Akiriko can play as a striker, winger, or even as a midfielder. But what he does best is to score goals.

At junior level David has won several Man of the Match awards and titles of a best goalscorer. His games and performance while playing for FC Star Plus also brought him an invite for the Nigerian U17 national team selection camp in Abuja in 2019.

In 2020 and 21 he was trying to win his place in A team of Enugu Rangers of Nigeria Professional Football League, training with their B team until an offer came for him to show his skills in the UAE at Al Urooba FC. He grabbed the chance but didn't get the right opportunity in Dubai.
